March 2016 saw 13 undergrad students along with 5 faculty and staff members returning to Castillo del Rey in El Salvador. The “Castle” is located on the banks of the beautiful volcanic crater lake of El Lago Coatepeque. The group traveled by bus, then by cattle truck, and finally by foot in order to:

  • visit two schools to do health education
  • work in a rural health clinic
  • go on home visits to do health assessments and clinic referrals
  • to set up a mobile clinic one day high in the mountains where health care is not easily accessible
  • to love on, encourage, and share the Gospel with the people we met

The group, with Dr. Boris, Nurse Tammy and our team of King’s Castle translators (Josue, Josh, Jessica, Jasmin & Anuvis), reached over 450 people and went to over 80 homes in the mountains with the result that 38 people gave their lives to Christ and many received needed health care and food.
